Setting Up Your Account

Your TMS account unlocks saving tutorials, tracking progress, reviews, Q&A, and more. Here's how to get set up.

Creating an Account

• Click "Log In" in the top navigation
• Click "Create Account" on the login page
• Fill in your details:

- Username — Your unique handle (letters, numbers, underscores) - Email — For account recovery and notifications - Display Name — How your name appears publicly - Password — At least 8 characters, mix of letters and numbers

• Check the box to accept the Terms of Service
• Click Register — you're in!

Your Profile

Visit your Account page to customize your profile:

• Display Name — Change how your name appears
• Bio — Tell the community about yourself
• Profile Photo — Upload an avatar image
• Location — Add your city or region
• Social Links — Connect your YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, GitHub
• Skills — Add up to 10 skill tags

Choosing a Theme

TMS comes with 5 beautiful themes:

• Default — Warm cream/paper (the classic TMS look)
• Dark — Easy on the eyes for night reading
• Ocean — Cool blue tones
• Forest — Calming green palette
• Sunset — Warm orange and pink hues

Change your theme from the footer or your Account settings. Your choice syncs across devices.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

For extra security, enable 2FA on your Account page:

• Click "Enable 2FA" in the Security section
• Open your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password)
• Add the secret key or scan the QR code
• Enter the 6-digit code to verify
• Done — your account is now protected

Password Recovery

Forgot your password?

• Click "Forgot Password?" on the login page
• Enter your email address
• Check your inbox for a reset link (valid for 30 minutes)
• Set a new password
